SAMBA, Oct 8: J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) launched Tiranga Yatra on the celebration of Accession Day, here today.
The Yatra starts from the Samba under the leadership of State president, Balwant Singh Mankotia, and State youth president, Yashpal Kundal. The Yatra reached Sumb of district Samba, where thousands of people welcomed the Trianga Yatra.
While speaking on the occasion, Mankotia said that Tiranga Yatra will cover all the districts of Jammu region and they will also try to hoist the Tri-colour at Lal Chowk in Kashmir so that the dream of one India constitution can be completed. Mankotia said they will celebrate this Accession Day with full pomp and show on the lines of Diwali, Eid and Gurupurab.
Yashpal Kundal said when India was partitioned in the year 1947, Maharaja Hari Singh had been under tremendous pressure to merge J&K with Pakistan but with the large understanding Mahararaja Hari Singh merged the State with India.
Kundal said this Accession Day is more important than Independence Day and Republic Day. He said that the “Haq Insaaf Journey” which is being run by the JKNPP for the separation of Jammu from Kashmir can keep the identity of Dogras of Jammu safe.
Others who were present during the programme were Shiv Charan Singh (district president), Arun Khajuria (block president), Rashmi Kant Khajuria (tehsil president) and Mohinder Singh Bobby (Youth president, district Samba).
