JKNTUF leaders demand regularisation of daily wagers

JAMMU, Jan 9: The Jammu and Kashmir National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF) has demanded regularisation of over 60,000 daily wagers working in various departments and release of the pending wages of the workers without any more delay.
While addressing a press conference here today, Mohammad Gafoor Dar, Rajinder Kumar and Nazir Ahmed Molvi, president, vice president and general secretary of J&K National Trade Union Front, along with senior leaders of various Associations / Unions including All Department Casual Labour United Front, have stressed upon the UT Administration for immediate regularization of services of 60000 casual labourers/ daily wagers who have been working in various departments for the last two decades.
They said that these workers are suffering badly due to their non- regularization and even delayed payment of wages for years together, implementation of Minimum Wage Act to the casual labourers of all department of J&K UT Govt, beside providing a social security scheme to all the casual labourers of J&K UT in case of natural / accidental death / physical disability on duty to protect the family of poor worker.
Dar urged upon the JK UT Administration specially the Lt. Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha for immediate solution of the burning issues of casual labourers who are on the streets, crying for justice regarding their most genuine demands of regularization, falling which 60000 casual labourers of JK UT will intensify agitation under the common platform of United Front.
Dar also appealed all the casual labourers to be united under one platform and not get misled by those who are becoming hurdle in the unity of workers and damaging the common cause of regularization of casual labourers.
Other prominent Union/ association members who were present on the occasion include Bhanu Partap Singh, Akhil Sharma, Piran Ditta, Ramesh Singh, Vijay Choudhary, Pardeep Singh, Basant Singh and Yash Paul.
