JAMMU, Mar 8: Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist United Front (JKNUF) has expressed serious concern over the plight of displaced Pandits putting up in various camps and non camps of Jammu.
In a statement senior leader of Front, Rakesh Handoo expressed dismay over delay in issuance of Ayushman Bharat Health cards to Kashmiri migrants for which exercise was started over three months back. He said the ailing people of the community totally dependent on cash assistance from Government are unable to get themselves treated in hospitals due to paucity of money. A hope was generated among them after the announcement of Ayushman cards by Narendra Modi Government but it is unfortunate that the community people have not been provided these cards despite making all formalities in this regard much earlier.
He also urged the Traffic Police to maintain constant check on accident prone areas on National Highway especially near Nagrota where accidents take place often. On such places temples be constructed, he added.
He demanded compensation to two KP families who recently lost their bread earners Sanjay Dhar and Jitender Dhar at the accident site near Nagrota as they have small children with no financial support.
