Handoo however expressed his satisfaction with the stand of legislators of various political parties who forcefully raised the demand of the displaced Pandits in the Assembly and the positive response of the National Conference (NC) Government in this regard has created a hope among the community.
He however criticised the BJP for sabotaging the issue and said the statement of one of its spokespersons in this regard reveals that party is not interested in rehabilitation of community in Kashmir. He alleged that in last 11 years of BJP rule at Centre no concrete steps were taken to redress the issues of displaced Hindu minorities from Valley.
