JAMMU, May 8: The Jammu Kashmir National United Front (JKNUF) has rejected proposed reservations for Kashmiri Pandits through nominating person instead of electing the true representative of exiled Kashmiri Pandita on merits through ballot.
In a statement spokesman of the organisation, Rakesh Handu urged Delimitation Commission and GoI to consider reservations of three to four seats for Kashmiri Pandits through ballots which is the democratic right of the community. He appealed to all KP Organisations to come under one umbrella to fight for our democratic rights.
He said by nominating two seats for the community the Government must make clear where the registered displaced Pandit voters can poll there vote. He also sought a clarification from the Government whether the two seats are for Kashmir Pandits or other migrants from Valley also.
