JKP organizes wall painting competition on ‘Drug Awareness’

JAMMU, Apr 12: Under Operation Sanjeevani, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) today organised a wall painting competition on the theme “Drug Awareness” at Police Station Domana.
Held under the supervision of SP Rural Jammu, Brijesh Sharma, SDPO Domana Mudassir Hussain and SHO Domana Arun Prakash, the event saw participation of around 100 students from the adjoining schools of Domana area.
The students who participated in the event highlighted the challenges related to drug abuse and combating measures including prevention, education, treatment, and rehabilitation through their beautiful paintings.
“The main objective purpose of organizing the wall painting competition was to create awareness among the general public as well as students regarding prevention of drug abuse and other evils in the society,” a police spokesperson said.
“It (painting competition) was such a creative way to engage young minds in spreading awareness about the dangers of drugs. Such activities not only foster community involvement but also help in prevention of crimes and use of drugs among the youth,” added the police spokesperson.
Meanwhile, in a statement, the Jammu and Kashmir Police thanked the schools’ administrations especially the teachers and students who participated in the wall painting competition.
General public, school administration, and students appreciated the police for organising the painting competition.
