JKP, PP hold coordination meeting to tackle border crime

KATHUA, Sept 7: An inter-State coordination meeting was held today between Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and Punjab Police (PP) to strengthen efforts in tackling criminal activities along the Kathua-Pathankot border.
A statement said that SSP Kathua, Deepika, and SSP Pathankot, Daljinder Singh Dhillon, reviewed the security arrangements at the border.
Other officers present included Additional SP Kathua, Rahul Charak, DySP Headquarters Kathua, Manjeet Singh, DySP DAR Kathua, Subash Chander, and SHO Lakhanpur.
The statement further said that the meeting discussed key issues including narcotics trade, illegal mining, illicit liquor transportation, and vehicle checking.
Both sides agreed on strict action to combat criminal activities and ensure a safer border, it said.
The meeting concluded with a joint strategy focused on intelligence sharing, increased patrolling, regular joint checkpoints, and strengthened border security.
