JKPCC delegation submits memo to CM

JAMMU, June 14: A high power delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) led by its vice-president, Thakur Hari Singh, today submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, through Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him of the problems being faced by the people of Jammu Province in this scorching summer for want of regular power supply.
The delegation drew the attention of the Government towards unscheduled power cuts, low voltage, fluctuations in power and worst transmission and distribution system for proper power supply.
The DC assured the delegation that he will communicate their view point to the Chief Minister, besides taking some quick measures to provide immediate relief to the people from this scorching heat.
He said that adequate field staff including JEs and AEs will be deployed and if any transformer gets damaged, it will be replaced within 24 hours. Moreover for booking complaints, a Call Centre will be opened shortly to ensure quick response to the people. He also disclosed that APDRP Scheme will be launched soon, which will help the new creation and upgradation of transformers.
Warning the State Government of dire consequences for deliberate harassment and torcher of public by forced closure of electricity supply in Jammu Pradesh, People’s Revolutionary Movement (PRM) demanded immediate restoration of hassle free and uninterrupted power supply to the people.
Addressing a meeting at High Court, the PRM leader, Advocate Rajinder Jamwal exhorted upon the people to launch full fledged agitation against the Government for their forced closure of electricity to Jammu Pradesh.
Meanwhile, in a meeting held here today inhabitants of Khatri Mohalla, Durga Nagar (Jammu) also expressed resentment over low voltage and unscheduled power cuts in their locality and demanded the PDD authorities to immediately repair and replace LT wires and upgrade existing transformers.
