JAMMU, Dec 23: JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani today started the online crowd funding campaign “Donate for Desh” launched by the Congress Party throughout the country for transparent funding for the party on 138th year of Congress foundation.
Launching the online campaign in J&K in a press briefing at PCC office here today, as per AICC directive, JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani flanked by working president Raman Bhalla , senior vice presidents Ravinder Sharma – chief spokesperson and Th Balwan Singh, vice president I/C Hqrs Vinod Sharma besides general secretaries Pawan Raina, Suresh Dogra, Narinder Sharma and Media Coordinator Neeraj Gupta, appealed to the people especially party workers and sympathizers of Congress to vigorously go for on line donations, ranging from Rs 138, Rs 1380, 13,800 and so on or in any other amount as part of “Donate for Desh” campaign for transparent funding to the party account. A certificate shall be issued on line to every donor, he added.
Vikar said that party shall reach out to every booth to at least ensure donation of Rs 138 or more to the party funds.
He said Congress party under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi had done crowd funding in 1920-21 and now in 138 years of its foundation now party completes 138 years on Dec 28, 2023. He said large number of people are already engaged in the donations, launched by AICC on Dec 18, 2023.
Expressing grave concern over the rise of terrorism and martyrdom of our Jawans in different areas especially in Rajouri-Poonch, JKPCC said that Govt should take more effective mode to bring the situation under control and ensure safety of innocents including the killing of our jawans. He castigated the Govt for making tall claims of normalcy, while terror incidents are on rise and our jawans are sacrificing their lives.
He saluted the martyrs and expressed sympathies with their families. He said that several incidents of terrorism have taken place right from Dhangri, Kalakote, Koteranka, Mendhar, Kokernag in which several precious lives have been lost. The Govt. should take more effective steps to check rise of terrorist activities and ensure safety of people, as people want peace and normalcy.
