JAMMU, Apr 24: A meeting of Central Executive of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Trade Union (JKPDTU)- a registered mouthpiece of working-class of JK UT was held here today under the chairmanship of Suresh Sharma State president and senior trade unionist to discuss various issues confronting the working class.
Sharma expressed his satisfaction over the decision of Lt Governor to increase wages of daily wagers to Rs300 as interim relief. He demanded that the minimum wages as being paid in other UTs of country like Delhi etc should be sanctioned to JKUT workers without any further time and it should not take Labour Department to finalize the issue within 15 days in view of digitization of all data in this regard. He demanded regularisation of all eligible daily wagers without further loss of time.
He urged all HoDs to hold DPCs which haven’t been held since long in many Departments/ PSUs. Attention of the Government is invited towards the employees of Forest Development Corporation who have not been paid seven pc pending DA .
“We will agitate if peaceful measures failed, he said. Majid Rashid, Anchal Bakshi, B.N. Singh, Vijay Kumar, Rajesh Kumar and Vipan Dubey , Abdul Majid, Yaseen Lone, Sandip Sharma etc participated in the meeting.
