JAMMU, Feb 7: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir People’s Revolutionary Society (JKPRS) was held here, today under the chairmanship of its president, Mir Ghulam Rasool Batwinee which besides other members was also attended by its State secretary, D N Sadhu.
The meeting expressed concern over the tagging of private schools constructed on State land and Shamilat land during turmoil period by people after many Government run schools were torched and students suffered for education.
The parents could not send their wards to high profile private schools as they could not afford the exorbitant fee due to their limited budget. To save the children from falling in a bad company which could spoil their future the establishment of private schools became a necessity and the State land which was totally barren was utilized for construction of schools and play grounds at different places in the larger interests of the students.
Now these private schools are running since last more than 30 years and Government have also recognized them where thousands of teachers and other staff are getting their livelihood. If these schools are tagged with Government schools this is injustice with the students community and the teaching staff besides the education standard in Government schools have remained lower than private schools.
