JKRCEA hopeful of early resolution of reservation in promotion issue

JAMMU, Feb 5: The leaders of Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA), a conglomerate of socio-religious organizations, forum of retired SCs/STs/OBCs employees, Associations of Youth & Students and Women from amongst Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes participated in a one day convention,  organized by JKRCEA Kashmir Chapter at Guru Ravi Dass Gurudhwara Hall, Bahu Fort, here today.
Reiterating the demand of restoration of reservation in promotion for the employees of various reserved categories, the participants expressed their full hope of an early resolution of reservation in promotion by the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti as she had assured the delegation of SC/ST communities met her under the leadership of Bhushan Dogra, Vice Chairman, State Advisory Board for the development of Scheduled Castes.
On this occasion, the participants also appealed legislators of all the political parties who are either in the Govt. or in opposition to objectively support this genuine & just demand of marginalized sections of the society.
Dr. Sanjay Bhasin, President of JKRCEA, was the chief guest, while Dr Zabeer Ahmed Bajjar, general secretary of JKRCEA, Prof GL Thappa, President SC/ST retired emplo-yees forum, MR Bangotra, Roshan Din Choudhary, President, Jammu Kashmir Tribal United Forum and Prof Kali Dass, General Secretary, AIBCU were in presidium.
Dr  Bhasin, while addressing the convention said that JKRCEA has been able to put forth before the State Govt the demand of restoration of reservation in promotion and in this context, he told a delegation of JKRCEA led by Bhushan Dogra, Vice Chairman, State Advisory Board for the development of Scheduled Castes had on January 15, 2018 apprised Chief Minister about this issue who assured them to look into the issue.
Dr Bajjar said that political solution is the only way out to settle the  issue of restoration of reservation in promotion which is a sensitive socio-political affair confronting more than 60% of the population of J&K State. He further said that with the assurance of Chief Minister given to the delegation of SC/ST communities, they are hopeful for early solution to stalemate of reservation in promotion and the reserved classes too expected due benefits of the reservation as the Reservation Act-2004 in J&K State was enacted by Late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed.
