JAMMU, Dec 15: In view of no apparent response from the State Government over reservation in promotion row, the JK Reserve Categories Employees Association (JKRCEA), has threatened mass agitation throughout the State.
“The mass agitation would lead to political debacle of the Govt if its fails in restoring the reservation in promotion for the SC/ST/OBC/RBA and ALC categories employees, “said Dr Sanjay Bhasin, chief of JKRCEA, while addressing a press conference along with the representatives of socio-religious organizations, Forum of Retired Employees, Sarpanches and Panches of reserved categories and others.
Piran Ditta, president, Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, said that if the present issue is mishandled , the reserved communities would be deprived of their rights. “If the Government does not take this grave issue very contentiously or does not take any remedial step to restore the reservation in promotion for the reserved classes, we would be left with no other option but to come on roads for mass protest against this” he added. He further said that keeping in view the large population of these communities that constitutes more than 60 percent of total population, Government must safeguard their Constitutional rights otherwise it can prove to be catastrophic for the coalition.
Bodh Raj Bhagat, vice president, All India Bhagat Maha Sabha, warned the ministers and legislators of their communities of serious consequences if they remain fail in protecting the reservation in promotion of reserved category employees. Bhagat also expressed his anguish that despite the fact majority of legislators have won due to huge votes of these reserved classes, all of them have gone into silent mode. .
Sham Lal Bassan, president Dalit Chetan Manch, Dr Gafoor Ahmed, Abdul Majid Malik and Prof Kali Dass also spoke on the occasion.
