JKRCEA threatens state wide protests for quota

JAMMU, Aug 11:  Castigating the bureaucracy of the State for conspiring to kill reservation in promotions by first befooling politicians and now the  Governor’s  State Administrative Council (SAC), the leaders of socio-religious, retired employees forum, unemployed youth/students wings of Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA),  today threatened to start mass agitation if the SAC under headship of Governor, fails to implement Apex Court rulings given on May 15  and June 6, 2018.
Talking to media-persons here today members of JKRCEA, said that they unitedly stand for SC/ST/OBC communities of J&K. They condemned the non-responsiveness of the  previous Coalition Govt in defending its position on the issue of Reservation in Promotions  and  now the SAC in spite of the fact that scores of delegations of reserved categories had met Governor  as well as two advisors are not taking up the issue seriously.

They said   initially the state bureaucracy took stand that High Court has stuck down these provisions of reservation in promotions but now after clear directions from the Apex court and circular directions from DOPT, GOI, these bureaucrats are lingering on with the file and in spite of more than two months of the directions, the SAC has failed to act upon the direction of GOI. They said  if SAC  fails to take positive decision in the matter, JKRCEA shall be compelled to launch a state wide agitation.  They further warned that this shall be otherwise peaceful rally and if some mis- happening will occur that shall be the sole responsibility of the State Government. They  appealed the Governor NN Vohra to intervene in this  issue  and  pass on directives with regard to implementation of court orders .
