JAMMU, Mar 27: Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum expressed dismay over the recent order barring the ReTs from board examination duties.
Addressing a press conference, Bhopinder Singh, Senior Vice Chairman, JKRETTF called the order as disrespect and humiliation for ReTs.
According to the service rules, ReTs cannot be barred to be part of exam duties, he said, adding that regularized ReTs working under SSA are without salary from last 4 to 10 months and Education Department has not released the pending salaries of regularized converted ReTs as a result of which thousands ReTs across the State were forced by the Government to come on the roads.
He informed that the Forum shall hold strong protest on March 30 and tala band hartal on March 31 across the State.
Singh said that it is unfortunate that they are being told not to be part of any exam duties. He condemned these orders and appealed to the Education Minister Naeem Akhtar to withdraw the order at the earliest as it would prove disaster for the education system in the State.
He said that if Government fails to revoke the autocratic order, release of pending salaries of ReTs and regularized ReTs working under SSA, regularization of female teachers working in KGBV Schools and benefit of SRO-43 before March 29, the forum will hold protest at Srinagar and Jammu on March 30 and 31.
Provincial president Arvind Sharma said that whenever Government assigns them any type of duty they perform it with honesty but their rights are not given by the Government due to which thousands of ReTs and their families are suffering badly and have no option rather than to come on roads. Sharma appealed the teachers of their cadre to participate in the protest.
Among others present were Anil Chowdhary, Surinder Singh, Rinku Sharma, Rishpal Sharma, Sudesh, Ravinder, Shabir, Sumit Khajuria, Parshotam Sharma, etc.
