JAMMU, June 29: A pall of gloom descended over the medical faculty after the sudden demise of Dr. Veena Gupta, the first lady doctor specialist in Pulmonary Medicines in the erstwhile J&K State on June 28, 2023. She was former Professor in Government Medical College, Jammu and Professor and Head of Department of Chest Diseases at ASCOMS Jammu.
Rich tributes were paid to her in hundreds of messages on different platforms of the social media by various doctors who described her passing away as a great loss to the medical profession.
She was remembered as an affectionate, brave and selfless doctor of higher caliber who always remained ready to help who-so-ever came to her.
Her cremation was held at Gurgaon, Haryana.
