JKSAC asks displaced persons to vote BJP in LS elections

JAMMU, Apr 8: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC)—an organization of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) displaced persons of 1947 has extended support to BJP candidates contesting Lok Sabha elections here.
In a press conference today S. Gurdev Singh, JKSAC president appealed to the displaced persons of PoK to vote for BJP candidates Jugal Kishore Sharma and Dr. Jatinder Singh, contesting from Jammu-Poonch and Udhampur-Doda constituencies respectively in the upcoming Parliamentary elections.
Talking to reporters Singh said that the decision to support BJP candidates has been taken by the representatives of JKSAC from of Jammu province.
He further said that it was BJP Government which for the first time released Rs 2000 crore for the Displaced Persons (DPs) and each family got Rs 5.5 lakh while the earlier Governments never paid any heed towards the over six decades relentless struggle of these DPs.
“The DPs suffered injustice mostly at the hands of Congress, which was always voted to power by the DPs with the hope that their rehabilitation issues would be resolved, but this never happened rather they were politically exploited and cheated for a longer time,” Singh maintained.
He also said that these elections are being fought between nationalist and anti-nationalist forces and further added that they are going to support the nationalist forces for the welfare of the country.
Didar Singh, Mangat Ram Sharma (Poonch), Dev Saroop, Ashok Kumar, Babu Ram and Krishan Sharma from (Rajouri) and others were also present in the press conference.
