JAMMU, Mar 11: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has urged upon Governor NN Vohra to prepare a road map regarding one time settlement of displaced persons (DPs) of 1947 from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and other categories.
In a meeting of the committee held here today, its president, Gurdev Singh, said that Governor NN Vohra should prepare a road map for the permanent resolution of this legitimate issue of DPs to mitigate their sufferings.
He further urged upon the Governor to clarify the nature, shape and detail of the package sanctioned by the PM for the DPs, as DPS are confused and disillusioned about the package.
Singh said while fixing the modalities for disbursement of the package, the Government should not take any lead from the previous package submitted by Omar Abdullah Govern-ment, as the said package has many lacunas particularly incorrect detail of the families to be benefitted.
