JAMMU, July 16: J&K State Pensioners Association (JKSPA) has demanded the Government to enhance medical allowance of the pensioners.
JKSPA president, Krishan Singh urged upon the Union Government for enhancement of medical allowance from present paltry rate of Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month at least which is being paid to Central Government employees as well as pensioners.
Singh also raised the issue regarding live certificate of J&K pensioners for which J&K Director General of Accounts and Treasuries has issued directions to all concerned treasury officers etc which create problems to the State pensioners, especially the old age pensioners living in far flung areas of J&K.
He also highlighted the problems of pensioners in whose favour gratuity and GPF are not being released for months together. The JKSPA president also urged upon the Union Government for formulation of 8th Central Pay Commission as per the past practice.
