JAMMU, Mar 21: J&K State Pensioners Association (JKSPA) has made a strong plea for earlier release of 4% D.A Installment from January 2020 in favour of pensioners and employees of J&K UT which has recently been paid by the Union Government to its employees and pensioners.
Krishan Singh president of JKSPA in a statement issued here, today said that this demand has also been voiced by Abdul Majid Khan president of All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation as like Central employees and pensioners, their counterparts in Jammu and Kashmir are also facing acute financial hardships because of heavy spurt in prices of all essentialities of life due to anti people and anti working class policies of successive Central and State Governments. Moreover, it is disappointing that the J&K Budget for the year of 2020-21 presented by the Union Finance Minister in the Parliament has made no mention of release of D.A installment for January 2020 for pensioners and employees of J&K, Singh added.
JKSPA also reiterated the demand for raise in Medical Allowance from present paltry rate of Rs. 300 to at least Rs. 1000 and reimbursement of medical expenses as medicare expenses are soaring sky high beyond the affordability for pensioners and employees. Other demands like expediting the payment of D.A arrears pertaining to the period from January to June 2009 to Pre-2006 pensioners, revision of pension of SOs and other categories of employees of accounts, statistic , sheep, Animal Husbandry and other departments, retired during the period from January 1996 to 19-02-2003, upgraded notionally from 1-1-1996 and monetarily from 19-02-2003 as those who retired after 10-02-2003, or are still in service have since long been benefitted.
