JAMMU, Feb 15: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA) called on Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo for apprising him about the issues of the teaching community.
The delegation, led by UT President of JKTA, Bhupinder Singh, called for the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, emphasizing its role in securing the financial stability of teachers. The plea for UT Pay Grade at par with other Union Territories was also discussed with the broader aim of ensuring fair compensation for teachers. The delegation called for a comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT Scheme.
Besides highlighting these demands, the delegation emphasized on the concept of character building, environmental awareness, management education, Teachers education and the promotion of indigenous languages. These initiatives not only enrich the learning experience but also contribute to the holistic development of students, JKTA explained.
According to a press statement by JKTA, the Chief Secretary’s patient hearing to these multifaceted issues signals a collaborative effort between the Government and the teaching community to address critical challenges within the education sector. The Chief Secretary appreciated the JKTAs five point agenda and listened to the major issues of the teachers.
The delegation comprised of Akhter Abbas, Joginder Dingra, Hamiet Wani, Sadaket Malik, Tirth Singh Bhalwal, Surjeet Singh, Sudesh Kumar, Mudhu Sambyal, Sajad Malik and Prabhat Singh.
