UDHAMPUR, Sept 18: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Association (JKTA) was held here today under the leadership of JKTA President Bhupinder Singh for highlighting the issues and demands, particularly Transfer Policy for the Regularized Rehbar-e-Talim teachers as they have been working in the same schools for last more than 21 years.
Bhupinder Singh explained that though the teachers appointed under ReT scheme were transferred under different Government orders and on the directions of competent authority but the department in the month of July issued order of repatriation and forced these teachers to go to CAT for justice . “Even the High Court has upheld the transfer order in 2018 and CAT has also endorsed the same by saying that stagnation of teachers minimizes their talent but still they are not considered for transfer,” he added.
JKTF President appealed the Principal Secretary School Education Department to intervene in the matter and frame a comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme and revoke the impugned order of repatriation for the welfare of ReT teachers who have been working in far flung areas and raising the literacy rate by enhancing the enrollment of students and minimising the drop out rate .
Bhupinder Singh also appealed the Government to resolve the issue of inclusion of five years ReT period for seniority benefits, release of transfer orders of Teachers and Masters under ATD 2022 and suitable adjustments of those who are suffering from chronic and life consuming diseases, allocation of funds to facilitate biometric attendance and to maintain day to day expenditure especially in primary and middle schools, filling up vacant posts of Masters, Headmasters, Lecturers and fourth class by DPC and teachers by new appointments, regularization of all in charge Lecturers, Headmasters, ZEOs, and other officers, rationalisation of teaching staff and restoration of old pension scheme.
He also appealed the Director School Education Jammu to regularise the left out ReTs and convert the regularised RRETs to teachers Grade II/III so that they may get their salaries.
Meanwhile, Udhampur District Chairman JKTA Surjeet Singh appealed Chief Education Officer Udhampur to intervene personally in the matter of Zone Ghordi where teachers including (KGBV) are allegedly harassed on one pretext or the other and their salaries have been withheld.
