JKTA raises issues of teachers

JAMMU, Jan 13: JK Teachers Association (JKTA) here today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Bhupinder Singh.
Speaking in the meeting Bhupinder Singh appealed J&K Lieutenant Governor to consider the genuine demands of teachers and other employees of J&K working under non-pension scheme and restore Old Pension Scheme in favour of teachers and other employees appointed after January 1, 2010.
He urged Administrative Secretary School Education Department to frame Comprehensive Transfer Policy in favour of Teachers appointed under ReT scheme as these teachers have been working in the same schools for last more than 20 years.
Even High Court gave judgement in 2017 that teachers appointed under ReT scheme be transferred within the district like other General Line Teachers.
Speakers in the meeting also said that DPC of teachers to masters hasn’t been done since 2014 and demanded conversion of Head-Teachers posts (SSA) into non plan posts of masters in upgradead middle schools so that salary issue of Head Teachers gets resolved.
Meanwhile, JK ReT Forum leader, Javed Chohan along with and others joined JKTA.
The meeting was attended by JKTA senior vice president Akhtar Abbas; vice president, Joginder Dingra; convenor, Irfan Bajran and others.
