JKTF demands early vaccination of Education Deptt staff on Covid duty

JAMMU, June 1: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) convened an online meeting under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, in which representatives of JKTF from all districts of Jammu and Kashmir participated.
During the meeting, all representatives of districts highlighted issues of their respective districts and held threadbare discussion on several burning demands, which include; providing relief to next of kinds of teaching officials who lost their lives because of COVID-19, by providing benefits under SRO -43 and full pensionary benefits, early vaccination for the officials of Education Department who are performing their duties on COVID-19 sites putting their life at high risk and also for all teaching officials who are performing different kinds of duties on priority basis.
The Forum further demanded that the teachers deputed for duty at COVID sites should be nearest to home and all employees of Education Department should be covered under Insurance Policy.
It was demanded that all the teaching officials should be designated as COVID warriors, who are performing their duties by putting their life on stake, and should be provided safety materials like sanitizer and PPE kits.
It was also demanded very strongly that Travelling Allowance should be given to all the teaching staff performing any type of duties like MDM distribution, door to door survey or any other such duties during this pandemic.
The participants also highlighted some other issues and demands, which include DPC of the different cadres, filling up of all the vacant posts of Principals, ZEOs, Headmasters, Lecturers, Masters, Teachers and clerical staff in offices and schools, revision of Pay scales of teachers at par with the other UTs of the country.
The meeting was attended by Surat Singh Toofani, Jamat Ali Agah, Darshan Sharma, Rajinder Gupta, Gopal Singh, Ravinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, Ishaq Rashid, Kuldeep Verma, Gurnam Singh, Subash Sharma, Sushil Sharma, Surinder Sharma, Mohd Yasin, Mohd Ashraf, Shafkat Zargar, Bharat Bhushan, Ghani Sham Sharma and others.
