JAMMU, Apr 23: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) discussed today burning issues of the teaching community of the UT of J&K in a telephonic meeting of its central body members.
The meeting which held under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria (chairman, JKTF) said that several burning demands and problems of the teaching community has been left unresolved since a long for the reasons best known to those who are at the helm of the affairs.
“This attitude of the administration has caused a dismay and resentment among the various cadres of the Education Department,” Ganesh Khajuria said after the threadbare and detailed discussion. He urged upon the worthy Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon to personally look into the long pending demands of the teaching community and take the necessary steps to resolve them at the earliest.
The demands and issues of the teaching community include creation of the posts of Masters under State Plan/Non-Plan scheme after going through the process of rationalization on the pattern of the Headmaster and Masters of High Schools upgraded under erstwhile RMSA Scheme and release of payment on account of the pending arrears and salaries in favour of the aggrieved Masters working as Head Teachers in these Upgraded Middle Schools.
The Forum also requested to adjust all the surplus lectures and masters at the earliest in order to provide the teaching staff as per the requirement of the students in the schools. Alleging that there is an acute shortage of Principals, Headmasters, Lecturers & Masters in the School Education Department, the Forum demanded speeding up the process to conduct the DPC’s of all of these cadres in order to fill up these vacancies at an earliest.
Other demands of the Forum include removal of pay anomalies in favour of Masters, Teachers, Lecturers, Principals and Headmasters, regularization of all the In-charge Headmasters, Lecturers, Principals, CEOs and Joint Directors in the Department, early disposal of the ReTs, etc.
