JKTF discusses issues of teachers

JAMMU, Nov 3: A team comprising the members of Central Executive Body of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, led by Ganesh Khajuria, State Chairman, had a comprehensive tour of different schools falling under the jurisdiction of Zone Bhalwal.
During the visit, a series of meetings were held at Lower Thattar, Bhalwal, Sarote,Keri, Gharota, Bagaani ( Rabta) etc, to discuss various issues and problems being faced by the teaching cadre for taking up these issues with the concerned higher authorities for an early redressal.
The main issues and demands projected during the meetings included, release of the pending salaries as well as the pending arrears of Masters working against the posts of Head Teachers, channelizing and release the pending salaries of Teachers working under NPS Schemes, release the pending arrears/salaries i.e., DA , salary arrears on account of 5th, 6th and 7th Pay Commission of all the cadres under different schemes and detachment of all the Lecturers, Masters, Teachers etc who are attached in different offices on one pretext or the other for the last so many years
While addressing the series of meetings, Ganesh Khajuria assured the participants that all the issues raised by them have already been taken with the Higher Education authorities for their early resolution. The issue of salary of NPS and the Head Teachers is at the final stage and the same shall be released soon after the opening of Civil Secretariat at Jammu, he said.
Ganesh Khajuria also appealed to the teaching community to do justice with the poor students and apply their maximum potential to the best of their capacity to teach the students in Govt Schools to achieve the target of academic excellence by making these students able to compete with others.
In the meeting held at Govt High School Bagaani( Rabta), the active members of the Forum were inducted in the Zonal body of Zone Bhalwal. They included Ch Sarbar Khan as Advisor, Deepak Kumar and Khalil Ahmad as Vice Presidents, Showkat Ali and Sartaz Choudhury as Secretary, Rashpaul Singh and Usman Khan as Coordinator and Ravi Kumar as Joint Secretary.
The delegation comprised of S Surat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, Haji Mohd Iqbal, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, Kuldeep Verma, Sushil Sharma, Joginder Singh, Ajit Verma, Mohd Ayoob and Yousaf Choudhury.
