JKTF discusses strategy for chain hunger strike

JAMMU, Sept 25: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Forum (JKTF), Jammu district, was held today under the chairmanship of District president, Darshan Kumar Sharma to discuss the strategy for the proposed call of 72 hours chain hunger strike organized by it in the premises of Directorate of School Education Jammu with effect from September 26.
It was decided that in the first batch teachers of JKTF unit Jammu will sit on hunger strike on September 26 at 10.30 am. The forum appealed the JKTF members to participate in the hunger strike and show their solidarity with teaching fraternity.
The leaders criticized the anti-teachers policies of the Government as a large number of Masters/Lecturers were transferred by violating all the existing norms as well as transfer policy thereby resorting to favoritism and pick and choose policy thereby denying the opportunity to those who had legitimate claims.
Darshan Sharma, Raj Singh, Ravinder Singh, Jamat Ali Agha, Shanker Singh, Susheel Sharma, Narinder Chib and many others were present in the meeting.
