JAMMU, May 10: A virtual meeting of the Central Body members of the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum was held today through videoconferencing, under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, State Chairman JKTF for discussing various burning issues of the teaching community of the J&K.
After the detailed discussion, Ganesh Khajuria urged the Principal Secretary to Govt, School Education Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon to personally look into the long pending just and geniune demands of the teaching community and take the necessary steps to resolve these issues at the earliest.
The meet drew attention towards the issue of Lab Assistants, who were promoted to Teacher in the OPG (Own Pay Grade) by conducting the DPC after observing all the required formalities and are still waiting for the confirmation of their DPC. The Forum urged the Government to take immediate note of this cadre and issue the orders to the concerned authorities for the confirmation of the DPC in favour of these Teachers so that they can get the benefit of the Teacher Grade.
The issues of Masters working as Head Teachers in the upgraded Middle Schools under SSA, Contingency Paid Workers (CPW), Mid-Day Meal Cooks & Daily Rated Workers were also highlighted and appeal was made to the Government to address their issues at the earliest for justice to them.
The meet said that a large number of Lecturers, Headmasters & Masters, hailing from Jammu, Samba & Kathua Districts are working in the far flung, hilly & remote areas of erstwhile Doda, Rajouri & Pooch Districts for the last so many years but their transfers to their home districts have not been initiated by the concerned authorities despite the fact that they have completed their requisite tenure at their respective places of posting. The Forum urged the authorities to repatriate them to their home district and adjust them suitably before initiating the general transfers.
The meeting was attended by Yog Raj Slathia, Surat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, Jamayat Ali Agah, Rajinder Gupta, Ravinder Singh, Gopal Singh, Kuldeep Bandral, Haji Mohd Iqbal, Raj Singh, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Kuldeep Verma, Sushil Sharma, P D Singh, Sham Badyal and Gautam Singh.
