JKTF highlights issues of teaching fraternity, urges Governor for intervention

JAMMU, May 26: An emergency meeting of the central body of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, State chairman JKTF, in which the burning issues pertaining to the different cadres of Education Department were discussed.
The meet demanded release of pending salary in favour of Masters known as Head Teachers working under erstwhile SSA scheme, conversion of Undergraduate RRETs as General line Teachers Grade II and regularisation of RETs who have completed their five years of regular services as RETs.
All the members present in the meeting expressed their grave concern towards the apathetical approach of the State Government for not giving any heed to the problems of the teaching community. While addressing the meeting, Ganesh Khajuria lambasted the higher authorities of the Education Department for their dilly dallying approach towards the release of salary in favour of the Head Teachers working under erstwhile SSA scheme who are at the verge of starvation as they are without salary since January 2019 till date even in the holy month of Ramzan.
“Even the higher authorities don’t seem to be sincere for resolving the issues and problems being faced by the teaching fraternity,” he said and appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to personally intervene in the matter and take the necessary steps to redress the issue being faced by the teaching fraternity to give them a sigh of relief.
