JAMMU, Nov 12: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum has threatened stir if the Education Department does not order adjustment of the left over Masters of 2014 by November 20.
Warning in this regard was issued during a meeting of the central body of JKTF, held here today under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, State general secretary, for highlighting various issues confronting the teaching community, particularly unprecedented delay in adjustment of leftover promoted Masters of February 2014.
While addressing the meeting, Ganesh Khajuria lambasted at the policy of the Education Department in deliberately delaying the adjustment of 581 leftover promotee Masters of Jammu province, thus making them junior to the counterparts of Kashmir province on the pretext of degrees obtained through distance mode. He criticized the callous attitude of the Education Department for ignoring the just and genuine case of adjustment of these promotee Masters.
The meet regretted that despite a number of representations made by JKTF to the Education Minister and concerned authorities, only assurances were given and nothing concrete was done on the ground to redress the grievances of these Master for the last four years.
The speakers drew attention towards the recent Government order for D Ed/B Ed training through distance mode for in-service teachers and said that it was very unfortunate that Government is denying promotion avenues to those who have acquired B Ed degrees through UGC recognized distance mode and thus causing mental agony as well as financial loss to the teachers.
The JKTF appealed the Education Minister and Secretary School Education to issue the adjustment order immediately without any further delay upto November 20 or face massive agitation with first phase from November 21 when a rally will be organized at Pres Club Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Yog Raj Singh Slathia, Gopal Singh, Soorat Singh Toofani, Ravinder Singh and others.
