JKTJAC raises burning issues of teaching fraternity

UDHAMPUR, Dec 3: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Udhampur Lekh Raj Parihar, was held here today
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma highlighted the burning issues of the teaching fraternity and appealed the authorities to resolve them amicably for the welfare of thousands of teachers of the UT.
He appealed the Director School Education Jammu to issue regularisation orders of ReTs who have completed five years ReT period. He also demanded conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III and EVs to ReTs. Vinod Sharma said that all these categories of teachers are without salary for last more than two years and thus their families are on the verge of starvation.
Also demanding issuance of mutual transfer list, he said that many files are lying in DSEJ office for last more than 6 months and need to be cleared at the earliest.
Other demands highlighted on the occasion included; comprehensive transfer policy for teachers appointed under ReT scheme, conversion of headteachers posts into non plan posts of Masters to resolve their salary issue, release of more than one year Mid Day Meals dues, raising Grade of teachers at par with their counter parts in other UTs, filling up of vacant posts ZEOs and Headmasters, issuance of DPC list of Teachers to Masters and Masters to Headmasters.
He also demanded the settlement of GP fund cases of teaching and non teaching staff of Education Department which are lying in different treasuries for last 6 to 8 months due to non availability of cash.
On the occasion, Lekh Raj Parihar appealed to the Chief Education Officer Udhampur to make provision of at least two teachers in each Primary school so that studies of the students go on smoothly . He also demanded post facto/ enrollment permission in favour of teachers whose files are lying in the CEO office Udhampur.
