JKTJAC raises issues of teachers

RAMBAN, Aug 25: A special meeting was organised by Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee ( JKTJAC) at Khari Ramban under the leadership of District President Hari Lal Nag and Zonal President Farooq Murtza while UT President Vinod Sharma and UT Publicity Secretary Javed Bali were present as special invitees.
The meeting was attended by a large number of teachers of zone Khari and its adjoining zones, who highlighted various issues of the teaching fraternity.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma appealed the LG administration to resolve the issues being faced by teachers for their welfare.
Highlighting the issue of Old Pension Scheme, Mr Sharma demanded scraping of New Pension Scheme and implementation of Old Pension Scheme. He said that UPS is just half given by the Government and it needed to be implemented fully.
Raising the issue of comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme, he said that these teachers have been working in the same schools for last more than 20 years and many of them including females are suffering badly.
Other demands highlighted by the UT President included regularisation of ReTs who have completed 5 years ReT period; conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/ III; benefit of Cash in Lieu in favour of teaching fraternity; conversion of headteachers posts into non plan posts of Masters; one more DPC of Teachers to Masters; raising Grade of teachers at par with their counter parts in other UTs; earned leave in favour of teachers engaged during summer/ winter vacation for summer/ winter camps and for other duties.
On the occasion, more than 50 teachers from different other organizations of teachers joined JKTJAC.
Among those who also spoke on the occasion, included Sham Sharma(UT Advisor), Sukesh Khajuria (UT Press Sec), Khazan Singh, Bhushan khajuria, Sandeep Sharma, Kirpal Singh Sumbria, Asgar Ali, Javied Iqbal, Javeed Saleem, Bilal Ahmed Malik, Javied Ahmed, Khursheed Ahmed Madni, Fareed Ahmed Luhar, Fardoos Iqbal, Fardoos Ahmed Sheikh and others.
