JKTMA discusses issues of transfers, DPC

JAMMU, May 21: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers/Masters Association (JKTMA) was held under the chairmanship of the Association president, Rakesh Singh and general secretary, Vivek Gupta where discussions on the issue of transfers and DPC were held.
Speakers in the meeting demanded modification in transfer policy so that teachers can indicate their first three choices of zones and cluster which is necessary to provide hint to transfer committee about their suitable transfer.
They urged Principal Secretary SED to release the adjustment list of recently promoted masters before the conduct of ATD-2023 in order to fill vacant posts of Master grades in far flung areas.
Association president said that there are some inter-district teachers working in other districts and for them choices should include zones near their parent district.
Vivek Gupta demanded that medical certificates issued by GMC Jammu should be considered for transfer.
Others members in the meeting demanded inclusion of some local clerks in district transfer committee instead of those from outside Principals/ZEOs as they are well versed with the topography of the district.
The Association also urged the higher authorities to conduct DPC of Botany/Zoology teachers by 100 per cent promotion quota on one time basis as per SAC decision by excluding distance degree holders so that studies of HSS students is not affected by shortage of lecturers.
Other demands raised were choice posting to employees having 58 years of age, filling of the post of Principal DIET Udhampur Kud within a week etc.
