JAMMU, Apr 5: Jammu and Kashmir Veterinary Doctors Association, (JKVDA) Jammu has appealed Chief Election Officer, J&K not to assign them for election duty as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India.
In a meeting held here, under the guidance of its president Dr Zafar Iqbal, Dr Rahul Dev, secretary and other members wherein they discussed that as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India the services of Veterinary Doctors and Compounders are exempted from Election duty as their services have already been declared Essential Services vide SRO-86 promulgated by the J&K Government.
The members of JKVDA, Jammu said that in spite of these guidelines, the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K has put their services in election duty. They added that they are ready to render their services for the said election duty because of National service, but in future their service be not put to use as per rule.
