JKVM delegation discusses Domicile issue with RRC

JAMMU, June 10: The senior leaders of Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) including Ashok Kangan, Hira Lal Bhat and Bushan lal Bhat called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, T K Bhat here and discussed the domicile rules issue with him in view of the various apprehensions expressed by the Kashmiri Pandit community in this regard.
The Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner informed the delegation regarding the procedure for obtaining the Domicile certificates from his office. He said the Government has authorised his office as Competent Authority for the purpose of registration of displaced persons besides Kashmiri migrants for the purpose of issuance of Domicile certificates.
The members of the delegation showed concern for those internally displaced persons who are presently living outside J&K or abroad besides, the enrollment of those who have been married out of the community. The RRC assured to simplify the method of enrollment and informed that a web portal will be launched for online registration and issue of domicile certificate soon.
T.K.Bhat, while listening all the concerns assured the delegation that all possible steps will be taken for smooth functioning of the office enabling the displaced persons to collect the domicile certificate with out any trouble.
