JAMMU, June 30: A meeting of Works Supervisors of Akhnoor today met under the banner of All J&K Works Supervisors’ Association (JKWSA) and highlighted their genuine demands.
The meeting discussed various problems faced by the pensioners who are drawing pension from Akhnoor Treasury. The meeting said that Madan Lal, one of the pensioner holders of PP No 111440998 has submitted his GPO/CPO to the Treasury Office in August 2014 along with requisite documents as required by the Accountant General but the respective Treasury Officer has not forwarded the requisition of GPO/CPO to the Finance Department till date, for which the association as well as the pensioner requested again and again.
Alleging that though their deputation took up the issue of the pensioner with Director Accounts and Treasury, Jammu, on 26th of this month but nothing has been achieved so far, the meeting demanded that interest on his amount of GPO/CPO be paid by the respective Treasury Officer for his negligence for projection of amount of GPO/CPO and the amount with interest be paid within 15 days otherwise they will be bound to sit on strike till the justice is given to the pensioner.
