DODA, Aug 29: Jay Kay Women Welfare Society (JKWWS), Jammu organised one day children’s theatre painting workshop at Bassera Orphanage, near Police Lines, Akramabad Doda with the assistance of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages.
The aim of this workshop was to inculcate values among the children and provide them an opportunity to explore themselves with creative and innovative skills besides to sensitize themselves and around their surroundings.
About 10 different Govt schools including five private academys’ students were participating. The programme was attended by almost 150 students and other participants as well.
Additional Development Commissioner, Doda Narinder Singh Bali graced the occasion as chief guest while the Commanding Officer 10 RR was the special guest.
The ZEO, Fulail Singh, representative of Planning Officer ICDS, Bal Krishan representative from DSWO Deptt, Captain Sangram Singh and Satish Kumar 10RR Doda were the guests of honor.
Rehman Kashmiri Sarpanch Thathri, Swami Raj Sarpanch Poneja, Sajjad Wani JKWWS and Pardeep Singh from JKWWS, were also present on this occasion.
CO 10 RR and ADC Mr Bali lauded the efforts of the society for organizing such a workshop of the children of this area.
Various themes related to `Save Environment’ , `Save Water, Girls Education’ were given to the students to depict the challenges in their piece of art.
The prizes were distributed amongst the students. First position went to Shaheen Public Higher Secondary School, Doda, 2nd position to Govt Girls High School Bun Doda, and 3rd position to Police Public School Doda and 4th to Govt Middle School Bun Doda.
