JMC Comm tours city, directs for anti encroachment drive

JAMMU, Aug 24: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav here today stressed on the need for collective efforts of all stakeholders for the development of Jammu city.
During a daylong tour of old Jammu city, on the eve of Janamashtami, Yadav interacted with representatives of Raghunath Market Association and said that with collective efforts of all stakeholders the targeted results can be achieved which would also go a long way benefitting all.
“On the eve of Janamashtami, our only focus is to make functional the lights in the city to give the city aesthetic look for which the electrical team of JMC is on job,” he maintained.
The JMC Commissioner urged upon the users to pay user charges of sanitation and use the dedicated garbage vehicles for the home waste materials.
He also got the first-hand appraisal of construction work of footpath, entry gate and boulevard, being carried out under Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL), in Raghunath Market and assured that it would be completed in a time bound manner.
Yadav instructed the concerned personnel to conduct anti-encroachment drives to clear the footpaths and remove unauthorized encroachments to ensure hassle-free pedestrian movement.
Among others, Joint Commissioner, Health and Sanitation, Abdul Sattar; Joint Commissioner (W), Firdous Ahmad Qazi; Deputy Commissioner (South), Lal Chand; Health Officer, Dr. Vinod Sharma; officers from JSCL; Executive Engineers of various wings of JMC and other senior JMC officers accompanied the Commissioner.
