JAMMU, Dec 27: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with Executive Engineer (C) and Municipal Veterinary Officer of the Corporation visited the Municipal Animal Care Center, Roop Nagar and Stray Cattle Pound of the Corporation at Dogra Hall.
During the tour, the Commissioner issued on the spot instructions for the much needed improvement in the Municipal Animal Care Center, Roop Nagar. The Executive Engineer (C) was directed to immediately take up construction of animal friendly shed for sick/injured animals, minor repair of drains, repair of water cooler and augmentation of compound lighting in Animal Care Center.
The Commissioner planted a tree there and directed MVO and his staff for undertaking extensive plantation along the periphery of the Animal Care Center for providing congenial atmosphere to the animals and animal lovers.
At Dogra Hall Cattle Pound, Executive Engineer (T) and MVO JMC were directed to take immediate steps for improvement of Cattle Pound by way of repairing of stray horse shed, attending to plumbering issues and taking up other allied works identified on the spot.
He instructed the staff for regular compositing of the Cow dung properly through the Vermi compost unit setup. He also suggested MVO to aware the dairy owners about the compositing by arranging a field visit for them to the Cattle Pound.
