JAMMU, July 2: In a meeting here today Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner, Pankaj Magotra directed the Health Officer to instruct his field staff to resolve sanitation issues of every Municipal Ward on war footing base.
Magotra also issued directions to gear up the collection of user charges and added that the facility of door to door collection of garbage will be started in every Municipal Ward.
He directed the Chief Transport Officer of JMC to fully coordinate with Health Wing by providing garbage lifting vehicles in time so that garbage is lifted properly. The Commissioner asked his Health Officer to issue notices to bulk waste generators who have not installed composter in their establishments.
He emphasized on checking of attendance of Safai Karamcharis in each Ward by the concerned Sanitary Supervisor to maintain sanitation within JMC limits.
Magotra directed the Chief Transport Officer to get ready for quick reaction to deal with choking of deep drains during monsoon season.
He appealed to the general public to avoid throwing construction wastes and polythene bags into nallahs as it causes choking.
Pardeep Singh, Joint Commissioner; Sunaina Sharma, Secretary; Dr. Saleem Khan, Health Officer; Talat Mehmood Khan, CTO and others also participated in the meeting.
