JAMMU, July 6: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Soujanya Sharma along with a team of officers comprising of Superintendent Engineer (S&D), XEn (C), XEn (UEED), Chief Transport Officer, Enforcement Wing, visited in the areas of Trikuta Nagar Kho Wali Gali, Nanak Nagar, Shastri Nagar, etc and took stock of sanitary conditions.
During the tour, Commissioner met with various sections of the people who were badly affected due to heavy rain that took place yesterday in the night hours. He visited various nallahs along with people as well as staff members and directed the concerned officer to deploy both men and machinery at each and every point of the nallahs for their immediate clearance.
He directed the concerned to arrange the additional machinery if required so that work may not suffer. He also visited other areas which were badly affected due to heavy rain and assured the inhabitants of the said areas that JMC will put every possible effort to mitigate their sufferings.
He further directed the Superintendent Engineer (S&D) to look into the matter regarding proper alignment of nallah at Trikuta Nagar Kho Wali Gali for the smooth flow of rain water and also directed the XEn(C) for immediate clearance of nallahs affected due to heavy rain and submit report of the same within one or two days so that the work can be taken up in hand.
