JAMMU, June 30: Commissioner, JMC Soujanya Sharma along with the team of officers/officials comprising of XEn (T), M.V.O, C.T.O and others visited various areas of low laying of Jammu where the Canal Road, Shakti Nagar, Talab Tillo, Priyadarshni Road etc. He met with various sections of the people who were badly affected due to heavy rains yesterday. He visited various nallahs along with people as well as staff members and directed the concerned Officer to deploy both men and machinery at each and every point of the nallahs for their immediate clearance. He further asked the concerned to arrange the additional machinery if required so that work may not suffer. He also visited other areas which were badly affected due to heavy rains and  assured the inhabitants of these  areas that JMC will put every possible effort to mitigate their sufferings.
The Commissioner JMC further directed Executive Engineer(C),  to frame the estimates for construction of slabs for covering the nallahs at Shakti Nagar and also directed him for raising the walls of nallah at Kasim Colony and submit the same within one or two days so that the work can be taken up in hand. People thanked the Commissioner, JMC for taking keen interest in solving their problems and issuing of on spot instructions to the concerned for speedy action.
The Commissioner, JMC appealed the general public not to throw garbage/building material in nallahs as the same is the main cause of choking of nallahs and it is the duty to clean our surroundings and further assured that JMC will put every possible effort for minimizing the problems of general public.
