JMC Commissioner visits Talab Tillo, Roop Nagar

JAMMU, July 7: Commissioner, JMC  Soujanya Sharma along with the team of Officers/Officials comprising of Health Officer and Chief Transport Officer visited in the areas of Talab Tillo & Roop Nagar Enclave Sectors A & B.
During the tour Kasturi Lal Gupta, president Jammu Welfare Organization unit Roop Nagar and others V.P. Chaddha, B.L. Mallah, M.K. Wattal, Chander Uppal, B.L. Sher and Ashok Singh met with Commissioner and put forth their problems being faced by the local residents in detail about rain water finding no catchment drains due to this the whole water gushing into the residential colonies along with the remedial measures required to be adopted to overcome this problem.
Commissioner assured the local inhabitants that matter will be looked on war footing before the onset of Monsoon to mitigate the suffering of the residents. He also inspected various nallahs at Talab Tillo area along with local people as well as staff members and found that nallah near Sheela Banquet Hall was choked due to raising wall alongside the nallah due to which nallah could not be cleared and suggested that wall will be removed temporarily after that they will erect the same. Ex. Corporator,  Parveen Gupta the owner of Sheela Banquet Hall permitted the JMC to remove the wall for the purpose of approaching the nallah and removal of garbage. JMC appreciated the decision taken by him in sake of local inhabitants facing problem due to over flooding of nallah. The concerned Officer was on spot directed to immediately deploy both men and machinery for clearance of affected nallahs for the smooth flow of rain water and for redressal of the local people.
He further directed the concerned wing to arrange the additional machinery if required so that work may not suffer. The inhabitants of the local area were assured that JMC will put every possible effort to mitigate their sufferings.
The people of these area thanked the Commissioner, JMC for taking keen interest in solving their grievances regarding flooding of nallahs due to rain water and issuing of on spot instructions to the concerned wings for speedy action and redressal of the inhabitants.
The Commissioner, JMC appealed the general public not to throw garbage/building material as well as polythene carry bags in nallahs as the same is the main cause of choking of nallahs and it is our duty to clean our surroundings and further assured that JMC will put every possible effort for minimizing the problems of general public.
