JAMMU, Feb 25: An anti-encroachment drive was conducted today by the Enforcement team of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in the areas of Indira Chowk, Bus Stand, Jewel and Bakshi Nagar.
The drive was conducted under the instructions of JMC Commissioner Avny Lavasa and under the close supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) JMC Manisha.
During the drive, JMC team removed encroachments/illegal rehries from the roadside and lanes which includes illegal ramps, railings etc. A number of bye-lanes were also freed from encroachments and opened for general public.
Further, JMC appealed all its citizens particularly rehriwalas/ street vendors not to encroach upon main roads, footpaths, pavements as the same cause inconvenience to the general public and pedestrians and also create obstructions in the free movement of vehicular traffic.
