JMC conducts cleanliness drive in Yatri Bhawan

JAMMU, May 28: Continuing its Thematic Cleanliness drive being conducted in Government offices and buildings with effect from May 16 to 31, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted a drive in the premises of the Yatri Bhawan, Bhagwati Nagar (Base Camp for Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra).
The drive was launched by RS Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A) and Dr Mohd Saleem Khan, Health Officer, JMC, besides other supervisory sanitation staff of the department. The staff of tourism department working at Yatri Bhawan was also present during the drive.
Sufficient number of men and machinery was deployed by Health and Sanitation wing for the drive. The Yatri Bhawan which is Government building was selected for today’s drive in view of Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra ensuing from July 2.
During this drive thorough sweeping of roof top, rooms, corridors, stairs, besides dusting, removal of spider webs and cleaning of window panes was done. The toilets were also thoroughly cleaned.
On the outer side, all the small and deep drains were de-silted. The parking and adjoining area of Yatri Bhawan was also cleaned. About four trucks of garbage and debris was removed during the drive.
The Joint Commissioner (A) and Health Officer of JMC appealed the public in general to cooperate with JMC in keeping Jammu clean and green and also not to use polythene carry bags. The drive will remain continue in which other Government offices will also be covered till its conclusion on May 31.
