JMC conducts demolition drive

JAMMU, Dec 15: On the instructions of Commissioner JMC and under the supervision of Joint Commissioner (A), the enforcement staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer & Enforcement Officer demolished an unauthorized construction of shop raised by Rupinder Singh, son of Krishan Singh on the edge of Nallah at Sec-4, Nanak Nagar.
During the demolition drive, the Municipal staff faced tough resistance from the violator, but with the timely intervention by the Police force led by Station House Officer, Gandhi Nagar, Police Station in the presence of Sub-Divisional Police Officer South, the Municipal staff carried out the demolition and the task was accomplished.
Besides this, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Enforcement Inspectors and other field staff of JMC also dismantled illegal structure raised on a land, private buildings, hotel for display of advertisement and also removed illegal hoardings/ bill boards from poles, rotaries etc. within the limits of JMC.
Jammu Municipal Corporation has appealed the general public to seek prior permission for display of advertisement and refrain from installing illegal structures on private building for display of advertisement.
