JMC continues drive against use of polythene bags

JAMMU, June 19: Under guidance of  K.L. Khajuria Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu and  Kapil Sharma Joint Commissioner (Administration), the Enforcement Staff led by Assistant Enforcement Officer while  continuing and intensifying the drive against the use of polythene carry bags inspected various shops, vendors and other outlets in the areas of Narwal, Bye Pass, Trikuta Nagar, Railway Road, here today.
During the inspection, the team seized about 15 kgs of polythene carry bags and also charged Rs. 10200.00 as compounding fee from defaulters on spot who were using the polythene carry bags. The team also made the people aware of the ban on the use of polythene carry bags and the adverse effects of polythene carry bags which are made of non–bio-degradable material and requested them to use the bags made of bio-degradable material to carry their commodities.
