JAMMU, Jan 19: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor, Ritu Choudhary today inaugurated Reverse Vending Machine at Shaheedi Chowk in Ward 7 here for managing plastic wastes.
Those who were present on the occasion were Tinna Mahajan, Secretary JMC; X-En, Mohit Mahajan; Residency Bazar Traders Association President, Puja Kapoor and others.
Speaking on the occasion Ritu said that Reverse Vending Machine is a device that accepts used (empty) beverage containers, plastic bottles and returns money.
She further said that JMC is making regular efforts to tackle the problem of plastic wastes under which various drives are being conducted.
The JMC Councillor further informed that more such machines will be installed in the city to tackle the problem of plastic wastes.
She said the problem of plastic waste can only be solved with the cooperation of public and requested the public to avoid single use plastic and use re-useable products.
