JAMMU, Dec 14: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa today started construction work of a culvert at Babbar Chowk area of Ward 69 in Sainik Colony here.
A handout stated that this was the long pending demand of the locals of the area towards which none has paid any heed in the last 30 years.
The area of Babbar Chowk used to get waterlogged during rainy season with the dirty water entering residential houses.
Speaking on the occasion Gurmeet Kour Randhawa assured the locals of more developments.
She further said that work for construction of office of the Ward also stand approved and JMC is waiting go-ahead from the management of Sainik Colony Cooperative House Building Society to commence the work.
Randhawa also said that locals of the area will find a permanent centrally located place to lodge their day to day complaints rather than visiting the house of the Councillors.
