JMC Councillor starts park development work

JAMMU, Apr 8: BJP OBC Morcha general secretary and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Ward 51 Councillor, Raj Kumar Tarkhan here today started development work at Mohalla Khadpaar Children Park in Channi Himmat at an expenditure of Rs. 13.50 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion Raj Kumar said that objective of this work is to motivate locals about the importance of trees.
He also said that in its persistent efforts to promote greenery and enhance the natural beauty in and around Channi Himmat, the plantation drive will not only give the residents a pleasant look but it will also enhance the green cover around the area to reduce pollution.
Tarkhan said that prevention of soil erosion will be ensured as hundreds of saplings of various varieties including local species of trees were planted in and around Channi Himmat.
He further said that multipurpose equipments for children to play with are also being installed in the park while the repair of water tank etc will also be done.
Kehar Singh Charak, Balwan Singh Charak, Jagdish Raj Proch, Kishore Sharma, Mohan Lal Kerni, Kaseet Singh Charak, Devraj Singh Charak, Mirza Bhagat, Atul Sharma, Bindu Charak and others were also present on the occasion.
